Gym at Home

If you’re not already working out regularly, it’s important to find other gym at home alternatives. Working out at home is possible and can save money on gym membership fees or gym equipment costs. Having a gym in your own home, though, requires the right setting and the correct equipment.

I’m so excited to be moving in the right direction! Here are a few pointers that should help you keep going.

Workout area-

This should be a space that is free of clutter and anything else but exercise equipment (weights, dumbbells). An ideal workout area includes enough room to lie down on the floor; this means about 5 feet by 8 feet (or 15 meters by 2 meters). You’ll need gym mats or large towels to lay the gym on. The gym space should not be on the carpet because the flooring will absorb the sweat and may smell bad after a while.

Yoga mat-

Buy a gym mat that is about 5 feet by 8 feet (15 meters by 2 meters). You can buy wood gym mats, foam gym mattresses, and some other types of floor materials. Gym mats are usually colorful and come in many different shapes and sizes for all budgets! 

Bricks-

A set of bricks works well for laying in the gym, if you don’t have enough money for gym equipment such as dumbbells. This is an effective alternative but it’s not always convenient; For example; if the gym only has a set of bricks, you may not be able to work out at home.  

Ropes-

Ropes are the most flexible gym equipment. You can use them to do pull-ups, chin-ups, and rope climbing. Make sure that the gym ropes aren’t too thin for gym workouts or too thick for yoga! 

Plywood-

Purchasing a gym floor that is about 5 feet by 8 feet (15 meters by 2 meters) will cost about USD 160. This material can be used as gym equipment or simply as gym space; it gives your home gym an official look but you will need to find other gym equipment if plywood isn’t right for your type of workout routine.

Tips for gym at home-

Make gym tracks to run on your gym floor; you can choose any gym equipment and location for these gym tracks so each gym track is different and wide enough. Having a carpet gym flooring may be comfortable, but the carpet absorbs sweat and may smell bad after a while. Scent-free cleaning products will help with gym odors from your home! 

Equipments for gym at home-

You’ll need gym equipment that will support your workout routine! The most popular type of gym equipment is dumbbells, though weights or body bars are also very useful. Dumbbells will give you many different exercise options to work out at home effectively including strengthening your muscles in both arms simultaneously (chest and back workouts, arms and shoulders gym sessions, abdominal gym exercises). You can also buy a gym machine or gym bike. A gym bike has many different uses; you can do spinning gym exercises with gym bikes to get your heart rate up while strengthening your legs!
